Ethan Zuckerman
Founder and Principal Investigator
Ethan Zuckerman is Associate Professor of Public Policy, Communication and Information at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He leads the Initiative for Digital Public Infrastructure, a research lab building and studying public spaces and public goods online. He is one of the co-founders of the Media Cloud project, which emerged from his experiments studying news attention paid to countries in the Global South in the early 2000s. His lab is working to build new Media Cloud tools to explore and understand YouTube and Reddit, including 2023's Redditmap.social.
